Snaps from Sigtuna — Lightroom vs. Snapseed
A rainy-day photo note from Sweden, with more travel photography thoughts coming next week
Hälsningar från Sigtuna! 🇸🇪 (Greetings from Sigtuna.)
As I write this, I’m sitting at the desk in our hotel room in Sweden’t oldest town, Sigtuna.
We arrived this afternoon and will continue our journey soon.
Sigtuna is wonderful.
Tiny streets, beautiful ruins, a lovely atmosphere — and fantastic playgrounds — have kept us happy today. Swedes are known for their playground-building skills, and I must say, our kid is not disappointed.
It’s probably Wednesday morning, noon, or night when you’re reading this. See, I didn’t forget to send this letter on Monday — I just noticed the blogletter world is a bit crowded on Mondays, so I’ve moved to Wednesdays.
Wednesday doesn’t have the same vibe as Monday (or Sunday, for that matter), but let’s give it a go.
As always, I’m happy to hear from you, so let me know if you have any wishes or suggestions for this weekly letter.
This time next week, I’ll share more about how I work with images while on the road. But today, I want to show you three (very different) little snaps from our walk around town.
I used the Fujifilm X-T3 with a 23mm lens (f/1.4).
The images on the left were edited in Lightroom on my laptop (which I only packed because of this post 😁), and the ones on the right were edited in Snapseed on my iPad.
On rainy days like these, the differences really stand out!
Here’s the thing: we shouldn’t compare these two editing workflows, because they’re meant for completely different purposes. (But how interesting it is!)
Next week, I’ll share some tips and tricks on gear, mindset, and how I organize my travel photos. I’ll also go through my main question: Which photos are actually worth editing on the road?
But for now, I’ll leave you with these three little snaps.
Until next time! Happy Wednesday, friend.
Vi ses! 👋🏻
