We have a new car—well, new to us, but not to someone else. This whole process of getting a new car has reminded me how much I love driving and the many wonderful memories I’ve associated with cars.
This was such a fun read! I love cars and I love driving - not a very popular opinion I guess. And found so many reference points in your story.
-My cousin and her husband always named the cars depending on the license plate. Wilbur, Olly etc
-My husband´s beautiful blue Peugot 404 from 1965 (best possible year of course) was called La Madame while the other french cars (naturally when married to a francophile) were simply the Citroen cars... very boring I know.
-I got my driver´s licens at 44 after plenty of trial and errors. One of the examiners asked me if I knew that the car had more than two gears...
-I grew up in a family of six and no one had a driver´s licence. My eldest sister was the first one and she was 50 when she got hers.
Today I have sadly gone from two cars to none and miss driving immensly.
Ah, such a delightful comment! Thanks ever so much for sharing, Carina! I was a bit worries none would understand what I'm talking about... 😅 Seems like we agree on many things when it comes to cars and driving. 😍

Gyl se Galsalta guulostaa! 😂 Mulla tuli kyllä vähän sekopää olo tätä kirjoittaessa, mutta en viitsinyt jättää hyvää tekstiä julkaisematta, joten... 😆
Sekopäisyys on ihan tervetullutta! Galsa on kyl vähän kalsa mut ehkä se tarttuu 😂
Honestly, I didn’t think reading about cars could be this entertaining. You have me a new perspective on how to think about our cars.
Ah, that is so wonderful! Thanks for stopping by, Manuela. 💫
